Thailand Part 3 - Phuket

First of all I have to say sorry for my lack of posts - life has just got in the way lately, I know that's a lame excuse! My trip to Thailand feels like a lifetime ago now but I thought I would share with you all my last set of photos from the final part of our travels in Phuket.

We wanted to travel Thailand a little bit, but we still really wanted to see what amazing beaches Thailand has to offer. The beach was just insanely perfect - golden sand, beautiful blue sea and weather which I have never experienced before in my life. We didn't really have many days in Phuket so we could only manage two days at the beach but it was pure heaven!

We spent our days wandering the streets similarly to when we were in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Phuket was more of a tourist resort, which was different to the other places we visited - this meant a lot of souvenir shops and (quite expensive) bars and restaurants. The main "strip" in Phuket was Bangla Road (I think, it's been a while...) and I am not joking when I say it was a little bit crazy. You probably know but Thailand is known for it's kind of seedy bars, and Phuket was no different. The bars had girls dancing on tables, pole dancers and a lot of people hassling you in the street to go see a Ping Pong show.. If you don't know what a Ping Pong show is and you are at work DO NOT Google it.. Need I say more? We didn't really have any late nights in Phuket because we are super boring haha, so our evenings were spent overlooking our hotel with a beer or two. Isn't it pretty?

When we arrived in Phuket we didn't have any excursions planned but knew we wanted to go on one. We had a bit of a browse at the endless people selling these trips and decided on an all day speedboat trip to the Phi Phi islands. It was amazing! It was approximately 1000 baht each which works out at around £20 which is soo cheap! They picked us up first thing from our hotel, we had a short bus ride to the port then off we set. We went to various islands for sight seeing and a bit of beach time (including one where the Leonardo Di Caprio film 'The Beach' was filmed).. It was heaven! We went snorkeling which was just amazing (I feel like I say amazing a lot! Haha!) We went to Monkey Island which is exactly what it says on the tin - an island full of monkeys! I made a little friend too, although he was very cheeky and starting climbing on my head to pick fluff out of my hair!

...and with that our trip to Thailand was over!
